Reading a Document Searching for Text
Check the "Backward Search" checkbox to cause a backwards search. Tap the "Find" button with side label "From Start/End" to search for the text from the beginning (or end, if backward search) of the document. Tap the "Find" button with side label "From Selection" to begin searching at the current selection position. If the text is found, the document will be positioned to the first occurrence with the matching text reversed. If the text cannot be found, no text is reversed and an audible warning sound is made. Tap the "Cancel" button to close the dialog without searching. Text search also may be initiated using menus and hard keys. Initiate forward search for the current selection beginning at the selection by tapping "Find Forward" in the Document menu or by pressing hard key 2. Initiate backward search for the current selection by tapping "Find Backward" in the Document menu or by pressing hard key 1. This searching for the selection can be handy for reading news group or email digests (concatenations of many messages). Just select a sequence of characters in a message header that appears in every message header (for example, "date:") and start smooth scrolling. When you have read enough of the current message, press hard key 2 and you will be positioned to the next message with scrolling still enabled. |
