Since there are so many features in SynCalc, the most concise way to give an introduction
to the application is by explaining the main screen.

3.1. Entering Expressions

You may use the buttons or Graffiti to enter expressions in SynCalc. When you are finished,
pressing the '=' button or entering a return stroke in Graffiti will calculate the answer.

If there is an error in the expression, SynCalc will highlight it and move the insertion point near the
problem.

Many of SynCalc's display features can be customized via the Preferences, including the font for
the answer.

A calculation log stores 1k worth of history. You can recall these historical calculations by using
the scroll arrows in the main view.

3.2. Advanced Features

Drag-N-Drop: All of the large buttons (0-9, decimal, and equal buttons) can hold text expressions,
which are drag-n-drop aware. The expression field is also drag-savvy. You can easily manipulate
text selections, dragging the selection to another location in the field or to the memory buttons.
When something is stored in a button, a small dot appears in the top right corner of the button.

Thearea where the answer is displayed is also drag-savvy. You may drag the answer to the
expression field or to any memory button.

Double-tapping in the expression field will cause the item under the pen to be selected. Triple-
clicking will intelligently select the expression within the correct parentheses, or the entire
expression if there are no parentheses.

26 numerical variables are now supported. They are simply the letters 'a' - 'z', lowercase. Use the
'@' operator (store) to assign a value to a variable; 2@a stores the value 2 in the variable a. You
can then use these variables as expected: as 2a+4=8.

Shortcuts have a name and a value; the value is simply a text expression which is added at the
location of the cursor. Shortcuts are useful for common calculations, values or whatever, which
can be programmed in easily and used with only 2 taps.

3.3. Support for Macros

All text memory locations (any large button), as well as all 'shortcuts,' can be executed
automatically by adding an '=' as in the text. Try the examples (in the shortcuts menu) to see what
we mean. The in() and out() functions are also useful for common calculations. See the version
history below for instructions on out().

3.4. User Tips

Tap everywhere, and explore! There are a TON of great features in SynCalc, and you'll find most
of them by giving the calculator a good workout and reading about its features on our web site.
