You're new aren't you?
Well I happen to like fresh blood. Welcome to the DIY new section, where you can write your own news direct on to the World Wide Web, without those annoying journalists getting in the way

This is a brand new concept in news services, which does away with all pretence of "the public's right to know" and all that twaddle, and acknowledges the real role of news today - a service run for and by PR men and women. If you want to read the unique Room news, just click on any of the news titles on the main news index page. To leave your own news story for the rest of the world, click on the aptly named "Write your own news stories" link and fill in the form. Once you've posted the news story off to us by clicking the submit button, go back and check the list of news stories and Hey Presto! yours has been added, thanks to the magic of Oracle.

Or at least, that's what happens in the online version. This one, being a demo and therefore stuck on your CD-Rom, is less useful. Or totally without function in fact. You can have a look at a few news stories if you like, but you can't submit any, a fact for which I am profoundly sorry. If you have an Internet connection, check out the real news page in the Room on http://room.vnu.co.uk/room.
