Opening managed files

To view a managed file, open a copy of the file from a WebDAV server. The File > Workgroup > Open command creates a local copy of the file on your hard drive.

After you have a local copy of a file, you can update it with changes from the managed file on the server using the Revert command for checked-out files, or the Update command for non-checked-out files.

To open a managed file:

1. Choose File > Workgroup > Open.
2. Select a server, a directory, and the file you want to open.
3. Do one of the following:
• Click Check Out if you want to open and check out at the same time.
• Click OK (Windows) or Open (Mac OS) if you want to open a local copy without checking it out.

To revert or update a local file to the version on the server:

1. Open your local copy of the file.
2. Do one of the following:
• If the file is checked out, choose File > Workgroup > Revert.
• If the file is not checked out, choose File > Workgroup > Update.
