Previewing Mac and Windows gammasThe Mac Gamma command and the Windows Gamma command let you see how a composition looks when viewed on a different platform. The gamma is a measure of the brightness of midtone values in graphics. On Windows, the gamma is 2.2, whereas on Mac OS the gamma is 1.8. The result is that the same image appears slightly darker on a Windows system than on a Mac OS. To preview how colors will look on a different platform:
