                      OBJECTIVE

The objective of Snow Bound is to keep the elf skating along 
the cleared passageway grids for as long as possible.


                      GAME PLAY

When the game begins, the elf will be skating back and forth 
on the starting grid for about 5 seconds before he  skates out 
onto the pond.  Using your mouse click on grids to rotate them 
in order to make a path for the elf.  You can rotate the 
starting grid as long as the elf has not begun to skate out onto 
the pond.  

When a grid has been skated over by the elf, it will be covered 
up with snow and cannot be used again until you can reset the 
board.  To reset the grids, you must first get the elf to skate 
8 grids or more and then exit any side of the pond.  If the 
passageway opposite the side exited is open the board will be 
reset and the elf will enter from the opposite side of the pond.  
Upon each resetting of the board, one grid will be filled with 
trees and cannot be skated on again.  

When you reset the board 3 times, a special Next Level path 
grid will appear.  You must end the elf in this grid in order 
to continue to the next level of play.   If you cannot get the 
elf to skate grid then the game will be over.   There are a 
total of 5 levels in Snow Bound.

                    
                     SANTA'S PRESENTS

The presents that Santa has dropped from his sleigh will appear 
along the various cleared paths.  Collecting these gifts give 
you extra points.  

At the start of the game there will be three gifts on the pond.  
Every time you reset the board, the gifts you have collected 
will reappear.  If you can collect all three gifts before the 
resetting the pond paths, then you get 150 special bonus added 
to your score.

 
                         FAST BUTTON

There is a red FAST button to the left of the scores.  If you 
click on this button, the elf will skate much faster through 
the paths and will get double points for each grid and gift he 
reaches.  When the elf reaches the side of the board he will 
resume his normal speed.
 

                            SCORING

      4   points for each path grid
     30   points for each gift 
    150   points if all 3 gifts are collected before   
          resetting the board.

          Fast Button:  Doubles all scores collected.

When the game is over you will get an additional 20 points 
for each gift you reached and 35 points for the number of 
times the board was reset.  Once the point total has been 
determined it will rate your score as Santa's elf.
