Create a file entitled NOUGAT.LF in the Ascendancy directory on your hard disk. Now start the game and press the following keys for cheats:

1 to 7	Take control of other species
Alt-E	Steal knowledge from other races
I	Speed up production (on the planet screen)
O	Maximum population (on the planet screen)
T	Build a colony (on the planet screen)
Shift-M	Increase your population by one (on the planet screen)
R	Take over an occupied colony
C	Finish the current project (on the research screen)
D	Learn everything (on the research screen)
Alt-D	Provide your co-ordinates 
Alt-W	Provide a lot of internal data
Alt-G	Save your current screen as a GIF file
S	Display all stars explored
