=*=*=*=*=*=*=*›› Minutes of April 1st OHAUG Meeting› ------------›› ALEX started the meeting by› covering the NEAR*US meeting held on› March 26, 1995 in Penn Station of› Newark, NJ due to the fact they were› unable to obtain a reasonable priced› meeting room. They reviewed the prior› meeting and went over questionaires› and open comments about NEAR*US by the› Steering Committee. They discussed the› needs of the individuals, BBSs, User› Groups, posible resources of NEAR*US› and the goals. The goals seem to be a› sort of unbrella group that would be a› source of information to anybody that› wants it regardless of platform.› JOHN MORDOSKY of LVAUG did an› excellent job of preparing for this› meeting by doing a lot of thinking and› putting it down on paper, also by› doing an outstanding job in chairing› this meeting. JOHN did a survey of the› questionaires with the following› results:› "Should we rename NEAR*US",› 53% said no;› "What computers do you use",› Mostly 8-BIT, some ST and some both.› The next meeting is scheduled for› June 17, 1995. The meeting place is› not known at this writing (There is a› possibility that it will be held at› OHAUG's meeting room in Plainview,› NY, There may be a SWAP FEST. BOB› PUFF, may come. He› also thanked HAROLD PEGLER librarian› for sending him the complete set of› PrintShop ICON disks from the OHAUG› library. John also asked if OCTAVIAN› GRECO needs another 1050 disk drive.› ALEX wrote back with list of clubs and› replied that OCTAVIAN surely could use› the drive, but JOHN should be prepared› for a big mailing bill.› FRANK KUZLOSKI, via New Nest BBS› left ALEX a very long letter on how he› wanted to make a dictionary of certain› words for himself. He obtained a› program from New Zealand, went to› local library and was typing every› word with each letter. By using› TextPro and special programs for› sorting, he finally has a personal› dictionary the way he wants. He show-› ed the power of TEXTPRO to do many› more things than just word processing.› ALEX responded by commending him› on using the various programs the way› he did and accomplishing his goal. His› own private spelling dictionary-A to Z› RON FETZER thanked HAROLD PEGLER› librarian for the information on where› to locate the OS chip in the 800XL.› RON was then able to change the chip› to Revision C.› JOE HICSWA sent ALEX a disk on› Daisy Dot fonts. ALEX sent him DAISY› DOT II, with the DOCS.› Letter from JIM HOOD informing› ALEX that STEVE HOFFEE has resigned as› Disk Editor of Atari Classics magazine› due to medical problems. BOB WOOLLEY› is working to prepare a disk for the› upcomming issue. At this time there is› only about 125 disk subscribers, so› BOB and JIM decided to copy the disk› themselves and include them with the› magazine when mailed. They should have› things ready to mail by the end of the› month. You can reach JIM HOOD by voice› on 510-672-1244 or by FAX on› 510-672-7611 concerning Atari› Classics.› Letter from JOHN MORDOSKY to› OHAUG, thanking us on behalf of› everyone involved in the hosting of› the NEAR*US meeting on March 11, 1995.›› DEMOS›› P.A.C.E.
