ONE MORE YEAR›› Today I'm 90, dear mighty Lord› I still have tasks to be done› I'd get so much accomplished› If I lived to be 91.›› I appreciate my venerable age› A privelege granted to few› But I would rejoice with all my› heart› If I could attain 92.›› So many Simchas (Happy events) I› want to attend› These happy events I want to see› To revel in the joys of others› Is it too much to ask for 93?›› I'm curious by nature› And my spirits would definitely soar› If I could witness new inventions› But then I'd have to live to 94.›› Forgive my wanting even more› To live is a natural drive› But it is only with God's blessing› That He will grant me 95.›› I'd like to serve my fellowman› If my mind retains its tick› I'd be ecstatic if I could live› To the age of 96.›› I've done my mitzvahs (good deeds)› and followed the book› I assume I'll go to Heaven› But I don't mind postponing the move› Until I'm 97.›› I know by then I won't be fast› And sometimes I'll be late› I don't mind being a statistic › Until I'm 98.›› I'm not a greedy person› I'm only asking for "Time"› Another blessing, another year› And then I'd be 99.›› But why stop at 99,› When a century sounds so good› So with the humblest entreaty I pray› Please make it 100, if You could.› ....from the pen of›› FREDA J. HODES....››
