Understanding the CD Audio feature
You can use the CD Audio feature when you play a CD to view the names of the tracks and a variety of other information including:
- Name. Name of the track.
- Length. Length of the track.
- Copy Status. This column is empty if the track has not been copied. If you copied the track, Copied to Library is displayed. The percentage of the track that has been copied displays as you copy a track.
- Artist. Name of the artist. You can sort all audio in Media Library using this category.
- Genre. Type of music. You can sort all audio in Media Library using this category.
- Style. Subcategory of the genre. The information is taken from the Internet database provider. You cannot sort by this category in Media Library.
- Data Provider. Company that provided the Internet database information.
- Modified By. Name of person who edits the information from the Data Provider.
Windows Media Player gathers as much information about the CD as is available from databases on the Internet.
