Several Windows Media Player features are enhanced when you have an Internet connection. Some features, such as Media Guide, require that your computer be connected to the Internet to use the feature. You can still play CDs or any media content that is stored on your computer when your computer is offline. Items in your playlists that require an Internet connection are skipped when your computer is offline.
You are prompted to connect to the Internet the next time you attempt to access Internet content.
Note Click Work Offline to clear the check mark and use Windows Media Player online.
