Easy Table Creation and Customization

Visual Page makes it easy to create complex tables in minutes!

Creating a table is as easy as selecting the Insert Table icon and specifying the table's characteristics in the Table Settings menu. Once the table is created, you can resize its cells by dragging the cell borders. All text and objects that are contained in the table are automatically adjusted as the table's cells are resized.

Try this:

Enter edit mode by selecting the Edit Page Icon . Once you are in edit mode, drag the Source Editor Icon located just above the following table into the cell below it. Then drag the right border of the table to the left to decrease the size of the table. Notice that when you decrease the size of this table, the text automatically adjusts itself in real time. Visual Page is the only Web page design tool with real-time WYSIWYG!



  Source Editor Icon Select the Source Editor Icon to view the current page's HTML source. All changes made in the source editor are reflected in the visual editor and vice-versa.
Preview in Visual Editor Icon Select the Preview in Visual Editor Icon to enter preview mode with the current page. Entering preview mode allows Java Applets and QuickTime Movies to run as they would in a browser. While in preview mode, selecting a link causes the target page to load into Visual Page's environment.
Preview in Browser Icon Select the Preview in Browser Icon to load the current page in your default browser.

Now try this:

While placing the mouse pointer over the table, click the right mouse button and select Table Properties from the menu that appears. The Table Properties menu will appear. Select the Table tab and then select the button to the right of the Background Color box. Now select the color you want for the table's background. Finally, decrease the border width to zero by selecting the down arrow to the right of the Border Width box . Creating customized tables is so easy!

Following are screen shots of the Table Properties menu with the Table and Cells tabs selected. The Table tab is used to set up the characteristics of the overall table. The Cells tab is used to customize the cells that are selected in the table when the Table Properties tab is selected. While viewing the Table Properties tab, you select cells in the table and customize their properties, saving time.

When you are done with this page, close it and return to the main Visual Page Highlights section. Don't save your changes to this page in case you want to view the original page in the future.
