430 Army Co-operation Squadron formed on 1 January 1943 at Hartford Bridge, England. Their designation changed to 430 Fighter Reconnaissance Squadron on 28 June 1943. They were stationed at various bases in England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. The squadron returned to England at the end of the war and were disbanded on 2 August 1945. They reformed at RCAF Station North Bay on 1 November 1951 as 430 Fighter Squadron and went to 2 Wing Grostenquin on 28 September 1952. They deactivated on 30 September 1962 and re-activated at 3 Wing Zweibrucken on 24 February 1963. They moved to 1 Wing Lahr in February 1969 and were disbanded there on 1 May 1970. They reformed at CFB Valcartier as 430e Escadron Tactique d'Helicopteres on 1 January 1971 and currently fly the CH-146 Griffon.
