Follow these instructions if GOLFDEMO does not give you any sound, and you have an installed soundcard in your machine. [1] If your sound card is not 100% Soundblaster or Ultrasound compatible, then you may not be able to get sound from this product. [2] To initialise your Soundblaster or Ultrasound card you will have to add a SET BLASTER or SET ULTRASND line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. (You will normally find this in the root directory of your C: drive.) [3] Please refer to your sound card's documentation for precise instructions on how to install your sound card. However, the following summary for Soundblaster compatibles may help: [4] The line in AUTOEXEC.BAT should be of the type: SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H7 T6 where: The three digits after A refer to the I/O range of your sound card. The digit after I refers to the Interrupt Request number of your card. The digit after D refers to the Low DMA setting of your card. The digit after H refers to the High DMA of your card. and The digit after T refers to the type of soundcard you are using: i.e. T=1 where you have a Soundblaster 1.x or compatible T=2, 4 or 5 where you have a Soundblaster Pro or compatible T=3 where you have a Soundblaster 2.0 or compatible T=6 where you have a Soundblaster 2 or AWE 32 compatible [5] If your machine locks up during sound initialisation, it will automatically disable sound on the next attempt unless you alter the settings. This is so that the game will safely run. [6] We hope that these considerations do not interfere with your enjoyment of the product.
