Shipwreckers! Single Level Demo ------------------------------- System Requirements ------------------- Windows 95 DirectX version 5 Some form of 3D acceleration hardware. 16Mb RAM (it may run in less - but don't count on it) 4Mb VRAM (it will run with less, but it doesn't look as nice) 3D Accelerator Cards -------------------- 3Dfx Interactive Inc, VooDoo chipset Orchid, Righteous 3D, VooDoo chipset Diamond Multimedia, Monster 3D, VooDoo chipset Diamond Multimedia, Glint Videologic, PowerVR PCX1 Videologic, PowerVR PCX2 Creative Labs, 3D Blaster Matrox MGA, Mystique Range Matrox MGA, Millenium II For all accelerator cards, please ensure you have the latest drivers (in some cases later than those supplied with the full version of DirectX 5) as many of the earlier drivers had minor bugs. Known problems & tips --------------------- Occasionally textures fail to load correctly, but switching out to Windows and back again fixes this. Not all accelerator cards support all the facilities we need for the game, so if you find it doesn't look quite right, you might want to buy a better card. Because the game doesn't take total control over your machine, running other applications at the same time can result in severe slow-down. If you want to get the best performance, close everything else. If the game is really slow, you can help speed it up by changing the display settings in the pause menu (or the config file) to remove the sky, the sea, or to reduce the resolution. Configuration File ------------------ The configuration file is like most Windows .ini files. The sections most likely to be worth changing yourself are the player controls, since the demo version doesn't include the front-end, and hence has no means of changing the controls. To use a joystick, swap the player 2 section with the player 1 section, and redefine the buttons to your own preference. Most of the rest of the options can either be changed in game from the pause menu, or have no effect. Quiting: -------- To exit the game press Alt-F4.
