This method be used if you are getting an error message during setup as follows: Tower requires Windows version 3.1 or above. Installation aborted. OR Tower requires Windows to run in enhanced mode. In addition to the production Tower installation media you will need a file called SETUP.INS with the following size, date, and time. SETUP INS 24,585 11-30-95 3:42p Alternative Installation Procedure ---------------------------------- Since this new file is required to use this method Tower cannot be installed directly from the CD-ROM. 1. Create a temporary directory for Tower's installation files using one of the following methods. A. MS-DOS: From an MS-DOS prompt you would type: md c:\twrtmp B. WIN 3.X: Using Win 3.X's File Manager you create a directory from the File menu and select Create Directory. When asked for a Name, type c:\twrtmp in the box. C. WIN95: Start the "My Computer", select the drive you wish to use. Under File, select New and then Folder. When the new folder appears you may type the name of the folder, twrtmp. 2. Copy files from the installation media to the temporary directory using one of the following methods. A. MS-DOS with Tower CD-ROM: From an MS-DOS prompt you should type: copy d:\*.* c:\twrtmp B. WIN 3.X with Tower CD-ROM: Using Win 3.X's File Manager select all the files on the CD-ROM drive and copy them to the TWRTMP directory. C. WIN95 with Tower CD-ROM: Using "My Computer" select the CD-ROM drive and copy all the files from the CD-ROM to the TWRTMP directory. D. MS-DOS with Tower Diskettes: Insert Tower Disk 1 in the floppy drive and type: copy a:*.* c:\twrtmp Continue this with each floppy disk. E. WIN 3.X and WIN 95 with Tower Diskettes: Insert Tower Disk 1 in the floppy drive and copy files from the diskette to the TWRTMP directory. 3. Copy the new SETUP.INS to the TWRTMP directory. 4. Run Tower setup from the TWRTMP directory using one of the following methods. A. WIN 3.X: From the Program Manager, select File and then Run. Type: c:\twrtmp\setup B. WIN 95 From the Task Bar, select Start, Run. Type: c:\twrtmp\setup 5.
