Enteractive Presents.... The Sacred Mirror of Kofun Demo November 19, 1996 Background ========== An adventurer with a flair for high tech you have been summoned to lead a risky ocean expedition. Caught in a plot of international intrigue, you travel across tropical islands, deep beneath the Pacific and throughout the annals of history, searching for clues to rescue a kidnapped archeologist and solve the mystery behind THE SACRED MIRROR OF KOFUN. Game Play Tips ============== This demo introduces you to two of the three "environments" you encounter while playing The Sacred Mirror of Kofun from Enteractive, Inc. and Future Concept. These three "environments" include your ship, the extensive and highly-detailed underwater dives, and the South Sea islands that are bursting with cluesif you can find them. All three of these environments help you explore a world of myth, deception, thievery, and intrigue whose history reaches back hundreds of years to the Kofun era in Japanese culture, through World War II bombing raids that result in underwater wrecks and stranded Japanese soldiers, and into the final years of this century. Now it is time for you, as adventurer Chris Young, to discover who is guiding you and whyand to stay ahead of these hidden forces while you try to stay alive. Antares The first environment is the ship you command in your quest around the South Pacific. In the full version of the game Antares, is fully explorable with cabins, intercom and communication devices, an international cast of scientists, and a station bay that holds the precious Poseidon research vessel. In this demo version, you interact with E.D.W.A.R.D, the holographic computer which tries his best to help you analyze clues. You should consult E.D.W.A.R.D. often, using his Encyclopedia, Database and Worldnet (like the Internet on steroids) to find, analyze, and store clues you find. As you analyze clues, E.D.W.A.R.D. may provide keywords you can string together for WorldNet searches. To navigate around Antares, you have two modes: 3D mode based on QuickTime VR, and 2D mode which allows you to move by clicking at the edge of the screen in the direction you want to move. The QuickTime VR mode lets you drag your cursor over the 3D display to swing around 360 degrees, and click on hotspots to move forward. Jungle Island If you are successful in analyzing and studying the video and keyword clues, you'll be able to track down the location of the Betty Bomber, lost in a sea wreck after being shot down during World War II. You'll also discover the location of an abandoned island that has a critical clue that you must solve. To navigate around the island and to select interesting items click when your cursor becomes an arrow. If you can't go farther because of the jungle overgrowth, try to find a tool in the underbrush that may help. Good luck.
