Matrox Glyph Antialiasing

Use hardware-accelerated smoothing for text edges. Edge smoothing (antialiasing) can make text more readable.

Hardware acceleration is performed only if your display is using a 16-bit or higher color palette. Windows only performs edge smoothing on text if the screen font is large enough and if the appropriate Windows control is enabled.

The Windows control for text-edge smoothing is in the Display Properties dialog box. Specifically, this control is on the Effects property sheet of this dialog box. The name of the control is different depending on your version of Windows:

This Matrox control and the Windows control are linked so that they're both enabled and disabled at the same time.

Note: Certain programs may not use this feature.
