Turn off Web pictures


Tired of twiddling your thumbs as glitzy Web graphics download? Speed things up by telling your browser to download only text. In Internet Explorer 4.x, select ViewûInternet Options, click the Advanced tab, and in the Multimedia category, uncheck Show pictures. Click Apply, then OK. In Netscape Navigator 4.x, select EditûPreferences, click Advanced, uncheck Automatically load images, then click OK. To view a page's images while you're online, just click the Display Images button at the top of the screen.
