Symbols in Excel
Tip Unlike Word's Insert--Symbol command, there is no direct way to insert special characters like Ô, Ò, Ó into Excel. It can be done, however, by either of the following methods: 1. Copy and paste from Word or the Character Map (in Accessories). 2. Hold down the <Alt> key and type zero plus the character code for the symbol you want to use. Note that you must use the numeric keypad to enter the numbers. The character code is revealed in the bottom right-hand corner of the Character Map. These methods work not only for Excel but for many Windows applications. | Category: Digital Helpline Issue: Dec 1996 Pages: 178 |
