Are your Shortcuts out of sorts?

If you're viewing a folder sorted by name in an Explorer window, and that folder contains both folders and Shortcuts to folders, the folders appear first and are followed by the folder Shortcuts.

Caption: Sort folders and Shortcuts by preceding their names with special characters

How do you sort the folders and Shortcuts so they appear together? The easiest way is by adding a special character to the beginning of the name of each Shortcut. To view folders by name, choose ViewûArrange Iconsûby Name. Then select a Shortcut, press <F2> to enable renaming, press <Home> to move to the beginning of the name, and type one of the following characters: a comma, a tilde (~), or an accent grave (`). If you want a completely invisible symbol, hold down <Alt> as you type 0160 on the numeric keypad. Be aware, however, that some utilities (including Norton Disk Doctor) frown on file names with such special characters and may corrupt these names.
