Slice and dice images

Q I was wondering if you knew of a program that could cut an image up into sections so that the pieces can be loaded one at a time and positioned with a table? I was going to have a black and white image and use DHTML and JavaScript to load the different sections in colour when an on mouseover event is called. Thanks for your help.

A It sounds as though you had better scoot on over to www.ziplink.net/~shoestring/dicer01.htm, and download PictureDicer for Windows. PictureDicer gives you the power to chop, slice and dice your images into smaller images, and is an ideal tool for creating pseudo imagemaps and graphics for mouseover effects on your Web pages. It can also generate an HTML table to hold the image pieces and make them appear as an uncut image on your page.

There are two versions of PictureDicer currently available. Version 0.39 is free; PictureDicer Pro is shareware, and provides an option to generate the JavaScript code for mouseover effects.
