Cleaning up Word's menus

Tip
If there are a lot of Word's menu commands that you never use, get rid of them. This is easy to do for many menu items in Word 6 and 7. Just follow these three steps to erase them.
1. Press <Alt>-<Ctrl>-<Hyphen>. Your mouse pointer will change to a large minus sign.
2. With the new mouse pointer, click a main menu item, then click the menu command you want to remove. The pointer will change back to normal. Note that some menu entries are critical to Word's operation and can't be removed.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for each menu item you want to remove. Word will save the changes in your normal.dot template when you exit the program.
If you accidentally delete a menu item, select Tools--Customise, click the Menus tab, then click the Reset All button and answer Yes when you are asked to confirm the reset. Word will restore all normal menu commands.
