Quicken and illegal operations - blame Microsoft
Tip In a recent issue you suggested to a reader that he/she may want to upgrade to a later version of Quicken to avoid getting "Illegal Operation" messages from Win95. I work as a Tech Support Rep for Data-Tech Software (MYOB and BestBooks), and we have had the same problem. The cause is -- yes, you guessed it -- Microsoft software. The most common cause was the MS mouse and keyboard driver called IntelliPoint (point32.exe). The particular version which causes problems is v1.1; later versions have, I believe, fixed the problem completely. New versions of the program are, I believe, included in the service pack which can be downloaded from the www.microsoft.com server. Thank you for an excellent section in the mag -- keep up the good work. - Toby Bainbridge | Category: Accounting Issue: Dec 1996 Pages: 172 |
