Q Is there any way to set my computer to automatically inform me when I have a phone call trying to get through? I would even be happy if I were simply cut off the Net when a call was coming in! - Peter Willis A YouÆre in luck! Telstra is currently trialling a new service called Telstra Internet Call Waiting, which will allow you to receive incoming phone calls while you are online. The service works by re-routing incoming phone calls via the Internet to your PC, so you wonÆt have to disconnect from the Internet to receive a call. You can then speak to the caller online using Microsoft NetMeeting. Telstra plans to launch the service in early 2000, and to use it, youÆll need to have a Pentium PC, a sound card, speakers, a microphone, and a phone line which has Telstra EasyCall activated. There will be a charge to use the service, but Telstra has not finalised a pricing plan yet. You can find out more information at call.telstra.com.au. - Belinda Taylor |
