Secret floppy swap

In Mac OS versions prior to 8, you could eject a floppy disk without removing its icon from the desktop. This made it easy to, for instance, copy files from one floppy to another. With Mac OS 8, Apple removed this feature, believing that most users didnÆt need it anymore ù but just between you and me, itÆs still in there. To eject a floppy and leave its icon (and volume information) behind, select it in the Finder, then hold down the option key, which changes the Eject Disk menu item to Eject and Leave Behind. You can also use the keyboard shortcut OptionûCommandûE.
