Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation Patch

If you have stuck with Tomb Raider to its fourth adventure, then you may have been surprised to find that such a mature product still has its fair share of bugs. At the hardcore gamer end, Tomb Raider IV has issues with the Creative 128bit PCI card running under DirectX7. At the other extreme, Tomb Raider won't run on PCs without a sound card. Eidos has released a patch to address these issues while also tidying up various stability and corruption problems. In addition to these fixes, some extra features have been introduced. First up, remapping of movement keys is now possible: an essential feature for many left-handers or game freaks who try to standardise movement keys across all games. Secondly, more save slots have been added, but this has an unfortunate consequence: you will lose existing saves if you apply the patch. If you are well into the game and haven't found too many problems, then you may want to think twice before applying the 450KB patch (available on this month's CD or from www.eidos.com).
