Tour Requirements

To complete the tour successfully, make sure your equipment meets the guidelines on this page.

Note Computer 1 and Computer 2 can be the same computer.

Computer 1 (Server)

Note All server hardware must be on the Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL). Software requirements include:

Microsoft Internet Information Server.
A disk drive formatted with Windows NT File System (NTFS) (required for the security test drives) with 150 MB of free space.

Computer 2 (Client)

Microsoft Windows® 95 (or later) or Windows NT Workstation.
Windows Networking with TCP/IP installed.
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 (or later) or another Web browser.

Reference Material

You should have the following materials available:

Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 4.0 product documentation. (The product documentation is installed in the Internet Information Server program group.)
Windows NT Server documentation.

Note You must have completely installed IIS version 4.0 and Index Server version 2.0. All the online reference material must have been copied to the server, including the administration documents. Make sure no other files or directories are being served by IIS; otherwise, the document counts returned by the queries may not be accurate and the indexes will consume more disk space than indicated.
