Identifying the SMTP Site

There are two identifying features for the SMTP site: the display name and the IP address. Setup assigns an Internet Service Manager display name for the default SMTP site. You can keep the name, or change it using the following steps. You can also select the IP address for the computer used to run Microsoft SMTP Service.

To identify the SMTP site
  1. Select the SMTP Site property sheet.
  2. In the Description box, type a new site name if you want to change it from the default.
  3. In the IP address box, select the IP address for this site. The site can respond to connection requests for all IP addresses configured on the computer. To identify the TCP port for each IP address configured for the site, choose the Advanced button.
