Developer Samples

Welcome to the Developer Samples. Through these clear and simple examples, this section exposes you to the power and extensibility of Internet Information Server (IIS), one step at a time. Included are sample ASP scripts, ISAPI extensions and filters, Active Server components, and Windows® Scripting Host (WSH) administrative scripts.

This section contains:

ASP Script Examples, which features a wide variety of scripts, provided in both Microsoft® Visual Basic® Scripting Edition (VBScript) and JScriptÖ. Beginners can learn what scripting is all about, while more experienced users can quickly review ASP fundamentals and move on to more advanced applications. Also, to make correlating the scripts with the results easier, you can run the script from within the documentation.
ISAPI Examples, which illustrates how you can use ISAPI extensions and filters to extend the functionality of IIS easily and quickly. Samples range from basic examples that demonstrate how to structure a simple extension, to more advanced programs that work with user input, threads, and server variables.
Component Examples, which provides sample ActiveX components implemented with Microsoft® Visual Basic®, Visual C++®, and Visual J++Ö. These sample components illustrate some of the options available to you if you want to add functionality to ASP scripts; they also range from the simple to the complex.
Admin Script Examples, which provides sample Windows Scripting Host (WSH) scripts, written in VBScript and JScript, that you can build upon to create simple and powerful administrative tools.
