MyDash_FreeSpace

INTRODUCTION

This MyDash module is intended for use with the SnoopSoft Dashboard product. It displays the program memory and object store space status, as well as any status of any removable storage cards (e.g. CompactFlash cards, PC Cards, MicroDrives, etc.). A screenshot of the MyDash module is shown below using the "SnoopDefault" skin:

The toolbar icons on the MyDash_FreeSpace page perform the following functions:

Tapping on the "Option" area (on this skin, the MyDash text) invokes the MyDash_FreeSpace options dialog. Presently there is only one option: enable or disable scanning of removable storage cards. This option is stored in the registry so that it remains in effect across system restarting.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

You can install this software either using a desktop PC, or directly on the device itself.

USING DESKTOP PC

  1. Extract the files in this ZIP file into a temporary folder on your desktop PC.
  2. Execute SETUP.EXE from the temporary folder. It will launch ActiveSync to install the software on your device.
  3. Use Dashboard setup feature to enable MyDash_FreeSpace.

ON THE DEVICE

  1. Extract the files in this ZIP file into a temporary folder on your device.
  2. Execute MyDash_FreeSpace.XXX.cab, where XXX represents your CPU type (i.e. ARM, MIPS, or SH3). To find out your CPU type, please refer to your manufacturer's user guide.
  3. Use Dashboard setup feature to enable MyDash_FreeSpace.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

USING DESKTOP PC

  1. On your device, disable MyDash_FreeSpace in Dashboard setup feature on your device.
  2. On your desktop PC, select Tools|Add/Remove Programs in ActiveSync.
  3. Select TJOtala MyDash_FreeSpace in the list and click on Remove.

ON THE DEVICE

  1. On your device, disable MyDash_FreeSpace in Dashboard setup feature
  2. Select Start|Settings, then select System and select Remove Programs.
  3. Select TJOtala MyDash_FreeSpace in the list and click on Remove.

  • Fixed a crash/corruption problem with devices having more than 4 storage cards (e.g. Casio EG-800 with a removable HDD that has multiple partitions). Increased limit to 16 storage cards, plus added safeguard against overflow.
