AxMan Features ------------ - AxMan can split any file, regardless of type, size or long filename. - AxMan can zip and unzip files - AxMan can split multiple files - AxMan can automatically write the split file pieces to a floppy disk. There is no need to run AxMan and then copy the pieces to floppy disks manually. - AxMan does not require that the disks be empty. Unlike Microsoft Backup and other utilities, AxMan does not require that the disks that it is splitting the file to be empty. Instead, AxMan will fit as much onto each disk as it can. - AxMan can split to predefined sizes - AxMan can re-create any single piece of a split set - AxMan can include a restore version (AxManRestore.exe) when splitting that will restore the split files without AxMan being installed. - AxMan can calculate a checksum for each piece to guarantee the integrity of all AxMan files. - AxMan restores the file for you. - AxMan if fully customizable. - AxMan can split files into any size pieces. - AxMan can analyze existing ".axman" files. - AxMan allows for a "right-click" in Explorer on a file to "send to" AxMan for splitting. - AxMan registers its ".axman" file extension so you can "double-click" on an existing ".axman" split file in Explorer to start the restore procedure. - Simple and easy to use graphical interface. - AxMan can automatically remove the files being split or restored. - AxMan can prompt to format all the floppy disks that it writes to - AxMan can split the file into "Non-AxMan" format pieces. This allows users to restore the pieces on Non Windows 95/NT platforms. Ex. DOS users can restore using "copy /B" and Unix users can restore using "cat". This option will also minimize on disk space used. AxMan can restore this split type, however, remember, when splitting to non-AxMan format, AxMan will not be able to verify that pieces are being put together in the correct order, how many pieces there are total, etc. - AxMan can write a batch file to restore the file when the "Non-AxMan" split option is chosen. - AxMan can generate 8.3 compliant file names when splittin to Non-AxMan format - AxMan has full keyboard support Installation ---------------------- AxMan v3.00 Beta 3 comes with full installation and deinstallation support. To install AxMan, simply unzip the package (which you had to do to read this file), and run the install.exe. That's it!
