Headers Range Window

This window allows you to select a range of headers to download for a particular newsgroup.

Some newsgroups contain several millions of headers, and these can take hours to download even on a high-speed Internet connection.

Using the ôSelectionö menu, you can set the number of headers you want to download or you can use the scrollbars to manually set the range.

Note: The news servers only provide an estimate of the number of messages in a group. Therefore, the number of messages you download may vary from the range you defined.

While quality Usenet providers usually give accurate estimates, some others do not. Wrong estimates typically give a higher number of messages than is really available in the groups.

Caution: Some less scrupulous providers may advertise false and inflated estimates as the number of messages they actually carry.
