Configuring your alert options

By default, SecurityCenter automatically notifies you with alerts and sounds for public virus outbreaks, security threats, and product updates. However, you can configure SecurityCenter to hide all security alerts or product update alerts.

To configure your alert options:

  1. Click Updates on the SecurityCenter toolbar.
  2. Click Configure on the Updates dialog box.
  3. Click Advanced on the Automatic Update Options dialog box.
  4. Select your alert options in the Advanced Options dialog box:
  5. Click OK.

Note: To disable future update alerts from the alert itself, click Turn off this alert type. A message box appears with steps for enabling update alerts again later in the Advanced Options dialog box.
