OpenOffice.org 1.0.1 With the launch of Staroffice 6, Sun has changed its policy: the full office application suite would now charged at (a still very reasonable) £50, while a new completely free version called Openoffice would be made available via the website. You get a fully-featured word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation graphics program which are all compatible with Microsoft Office, along with an HTML editor, maths and a drawing package. .

Tomsrtbt Tomsbrt is a basic installation of GNU/Linux that fits on just one floppy disk. It's a useful tool for recovering your data when you can't boot from the hard drive. And the name? It stands for "Tom's floppy which has a root filesystem and is also bootable." Now, aren't you glad you asked?

Sunclock Sunclock displays a map of the Earth and shows which portion is illuminated by the sun. It can switch between two windows. The first displays a small map of the Earth and occupies little space on the screen, while the "map window" displays a large map and offers more advanced functions: local time of cities, sun and moon positions, distances between two locations, etc. You can modify the list of cities.

Glchess glChess, is an open source 3D chess interface. Currently it supports these modes: Crafty vs Human, GNU Chess vs Human, and Human vs Human (no network support so far). In the game you can zoom around and change your view etc.

Squelch This is an Ogg Vorbis audio player that features highly multi-treading smooth operation, a sophisticated playlist manager, gap removal between tracks, and an integrated Vorbis tag editor. The master playlist auto-updates when tracks are added.

Linux Commander Linux Commander is a file manager for Linux. It looks and behaves similarly to Windows Explorer, with split-pane view of your files and folders. You can perform all the standard file management operations through keyboard shortcuts or by dragging and dropping files.

LedIt! LedIt! is a free, easy to use and stable, cross-platform multi-lingual (unicode) word processor. It is small and quick. LedIt! has most of the features you're likely to need, but uses a simple uncluttered interface. LedIt! is actively being developed, so you should check back often to find out about new updates.

ICBM3D ICBM3D (inter-continental ballistic missiles, 3D) is a 3D vector-based clone of Dave Theurer's classic Atari arcade game, Missile Command. You are in control of anti-ICBM weapons which you use to destroy an onslaught of missiles (and other nasties) that are dropping from the skies onto your cities. The game ends when your cities have all been destroyed. High scores during attacks gain you replacement cities.
