Bigfoot offers permanent e-mail 19 June
Bigfoot Partners LP, creators of the Bigfoot e-mail directory, is adding "Bigfoot For Life," a free service that gives e-mail users a permanent e-mail address. Once signed up, a user can have one address, and have all of their messages forwarded.

By registering at The Bigfoot Directory, which is located on the World Wide Web at www.bigfoot.com , users can select a permanent Bigfoot e-mail address. In the registration process, the user identifies the single destination for all e-mail sent to his or her Bigfoot account. On completion of registration, users receive a password and complete instructions on how to use the free service, including a "simple step" to change the Bigfoot e-mail destination.

Users can instruct the service to forward messages from one or all of their active e-mail accounts, whether corporate network or commercial service, to their most active e-mail address. Regardless of any change of address afterwards, Bigfoot for Life subscribers can have their e-mail automatically follow them.

"This is the last e-mail address you will ever need," said Leonard Barshack co-founder of The Bigfoot Directory. "No matter who you are or where you go in life, your e-mail will now follow you courtesy of Bigfoot For Life."

The Bigfoot Directory is an international online directory of e-mail addresses for individuals. Bigfoot provides users with e-mail addresses as well as phone numbers, fax numbers, previous e-mail addresses and mailing addresses for each individual listed within the directory. Bigfoot claims to be growing at a rate of more than one million new entries per month. Most of its addresses come from already established lists that Bigfoot incorporates into its own directory.

When anyone dials up Bigfoot, they are given the opportunity to click "add me to Bigfoot," and, by typing in name and e-mail address they are in the directory. They can add, if they want, phone number, fax number, mailing address, and some text. Everyone is also given a set of options limiting the use of their address. Once at Bigfoot, users can search for e-mail addresses by name, without charge.

Wayne Phillips, a spokesman for Bigfoot Partners, told Newsbytes, "Globally, there are over 30 million people online, each with their own e-mail addresses, and this figure is increasing dramatically every month. Since a comprehensive directory does not yet exist, finding the e-mail address of an individual or business can be difficult. This is why Bigfoot was created. Individuals and businesses can be listed in the Bigfoot directory without charge. The entry process is quick, and users can list a wide range of contact information."

When asked if someone could go in and copy thousands of names from the list, Phillips indicated that it would not be easy, but could be done. "Bigfoot has been created as a directory, not as a list provider. As of now, we are offering the system free, and intend to make money through advertisers on the system."
