Tweaking Toolbox is one of many programs on the market which enable you to 'tweak' Windows' settings which would otherwise require fiddling around in the registry. In addition to this, the program will display information about your system which you may need access to from time to time.

There are a number of cosmetic tweaks available, including renaming the Recycle Bin, selecting which icons should be displayed on your desktop and the option to change the title bar text for Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Using Tweaking Toolbox you can quickly find out which exactly version of Windows you are running, your product ID and product key (useful if you have lost your original CD case), and much more.

The program is described by the publishers as '100% foolproof', and the easiest way to get to know it is to try it out for yourself. Opposite is a brief rundown of some of Tweaking Toolbox's main features.

The first time you run Tweaking Toolbox a splash screen will be displayed. In future, this screen will only be shown every fifth time the program is executed.
