This is sort of an explanation about while General Manager is so late.
Yes, it SHOULD have been out in December (at least the demo, anyway).
After it was delayed because of reasons beyond our control, extreme bugs
began to crop up. One was the ability to draft more than 29 players in a
season; another was players were shooting approx. 13% in games and
therefore the scores were around 25-30 for a 48 minute match. However,
that is all fixed now. Another huge problem is that three of the five
people in Exile Software left to pursue other careers, leaving a lot of
gaps in the company. The one and probably MAIN reason is that we are
listening to you. We want to make this game SO realistic; so playable
rather than just release an unfinished version. I know so many people
are waiting for it - that is fantastic. But if we were to release it
now, there would be an uproar. The features we are adding are like no
other basketball game ever. Who ever heard of player interviews in a
simulator?

Keep in mind that most games in are development for essentially 24
months. We have been developing this for about 14. Therefore it is
actually unfinished and to get this far we have made great progress.

Because of the obvious lateness of the game, we are also offering the
following offer:

Another month or so the game should at least be finished. Internal Beta
testing is going on now, and ironing out all the bugs (and there are
bugs :P) is usually a long process, possibly a month or two.

Basically Exile Software are imploring people to wait and be patient.
Don't lose faith. General Manager is NOT Vaporware - it WILL be
released. Mechwarrior 2 was over 2 years late. Magic: The Gathering was
over 2 years late. And Stonekeep? Don't ask.

Those three games are very good, and they were delayed. Rewards come to
those that wait - that is a sign we have up in our offices. And it is
good advice.
