Adding Audio Clips With the Voice Over Function

The voice over function allows you to add narration and other effects while previewing a timeline clips.
Do voice over operations in the Voice Over dialog.

To display the Voice Over dialog

Click the Voice Over button.

The following example shows how to place an audio clip.



  1. Click the Device button to display the list an select the device to use in the voice over.

  2. Click the Channel button to display the list and select the audio sources to add.
    The Voice Over dialog changes to match the selected sources. If you select a monaural source (monaural mixer, microphone, or phone line) the volume settings and displays change to monaural.

  3. Specify the source data volume with the Volume slider(s).
    If the volume is over 0 dB (digital clip), turn the white line(s) on the right of the level meter(s) into red line(s). Click the red line(s) to reset the level.

  4. Click the Output button to display the list and select Track.

    To create an audio clip only in the Bin window

    Select Bin.

  5. Specify a file name for the audio source data created from the selected source. Include the full destination path in the file name. You can also click the "..." button to display the Windows Save dialog and specify the file name and destination path there.

  6. Select an A track on which to place the audio clip.

  7. Prepare the source (cue up as required) and click the Start button.
    The Start button changes into a Stop button, and playback of the timeline clips starts. At the same time, creation of audio source data begins.

  8. Stop the creation of audio source data by clicking the Stop button.
    An audio clip is placed on the selected A track and the audio source data is saved.
    If you selected Bin in step 4, an audio clip is created in the Bin window without placing audio clips on the timeline.
