/****************************************************************** ** RELEASE NOTES FOR GAME THEATER XP (VXD driver) *******************************************************************/ ** version 4014 ** (00/11/16) -------------------------------- - Now the user may dynamically (without stopping the recording app) change the record source via the cpanel applet or Windows recording mixer. - Virtual surround fix applied- works in certain cases in DS where it failed before - PENDING PROBLEM: shutdown is not possible if we logon to our NT network domain. Otherwise it works. ** version 4013 ** (00/11/14) -------------------------------- - Aux in 2, Line in 2 are now reflected to line_out on first codec. No monitoring on second codec anymore. - Main WaveOut for 6 channels a bit more cleaner, esp with regard to interrup handler calling - The control ID of the Aux playback volume slider was incorrect; it has been corrected. - QUAD support restored, with the new VirtualSurround key (binary) check added when DSSOUND_STEREO speaker config is set in the registry. Then a QUAD task is loaded in both WaveOut and DS. - The control panel's mixer is improved, CPU usage is much lower now when acting on a control. - Now the cpanel mixer works when Yamaha is present ** version 4012 ** (00/10/26) ----------------------------- - MP3 files now can be monitored in MS Media Player. - Tone is lower in the cpl cpl speakers test. - For the CPL, the type of the EQ\Enable has been changed from REG_DWORD to REG_BINARY. This allows the equalizer to work properly. ** version 4011 ** (00/10/25) ----------------------------- - SPDIF in volume is set correctly on bootup. Previously it was set to maximum value irrespective of the value in the mixer. - SPDIF in volume is set correctly when the medium (co-ax or optical) is switched dynamically during playback from the control panel. Previously it was set to maximum value irrespective of the value in the mixer. - The SPDIF in volume scale was corrected to the proper values required by a DSP task (meaning that the volume range is larger than before). - Two hard coded strings within cwcmp3.cpp (for filter cwcmp3.ax) were changed to the Hercules banner. ** version 4010 ** (00/10/24) ----------------------------- - Power standby resume now restores the EGPIO 2 and 0 to their proper values. - Out_Debug_String() statements commented out. - MIDI device strings changed. ** version 4009 ** (00/10/23) ----------------------------- - control panel mods on muting the volume following the speaker config. ** version 4008 ** (00/10/20) ----------------------------- - modif on headphone supports, both driver and cpl. ** version 4007 ** (00/10/17) ----------------------------- - Control panel improvements (strings changes). - Volumes sliders fixed in cpl. - Strings changes in the VXD drivers. - S/PDIF input port initialization added in VXD drivers. ** version 4005 ** (00/10/13) ----------------------------- - Control panel improvements ** version 4004 ** (00/10/10) ----------------------------- MODS: - SPDIF input port enabled (or not, as registry says) on bootup. - much improved headphone support. ISSUES: a) I could not successfully test SPDIF out from Power DVD (soft DVD set in control panel applet for SPDIF out). However, we have a problem in that the subwoofer accompanying the decoder requires 230V, and we currently have no transformer. So test results may not mean much at present. Note that when I set "front out" in the SPDIF out section of the control panel ( and PowerDVD set to WaveOut, or DS) , the decoding works (but this is not AC3). We never got positive results when PowerDVD was set to SPDIF out. b) headphone support is not 100%, but close. At present, the game "Need for Speed: High Stakes" introduction is not heard on headphones, but thereafter during gameplay all sound is heard in headphones. All other tested games tested positive. Also, Sensaura Virtual Ear does not always work with headphones when one enters the wizard (after having selected the non white noise playback from the main menu). As well, the Play3DSound.exe application included in DX7 SDK works with headphones now. **VERSION 1.0.3.0** (10/08/2000) ------------------- - S/PDIF intialization - **Control Panel - VERSION 1.0.4.0** (10/02/2000) ------------------- - no change **Control Panel - VERSION 1.0.3.0** (10/06/2000) ------------------- - black line between line in 2 and mic - when you select stereo mix, line in 2 and aux 2 is gray out - some help strings has been added **vERSION 1.0.0.0** ------------------- Original release.
