When your display does not support Plug & Play function, this file enables setting suitable resolution and refresh rate for your display. * About Plug & Play When your computer and display support VESA DDC, the suitable resolution and the refresh rate are set by just plugging your display into the computer without any manual settings. When your computer system supports Plug & Play, the Display Information File is not required except for installing the Color Profile. (System requirement for Plug & Play) OS (Operating System) supporting VESA DDC Microsoft Windows 95 (Windows 95) Microsoft Windows 98 (Windows 98) Microsoft Windows 2000 (Windows 2000) Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me) Computer (Graphics Board) supporting VESA DDC Display Cable supporting VESA DDC * Please contact each manufacture (computer, OS, graphics board) to find if your system supports VESA DDC. * The following procedure may differ depending on your computer (graphics board). * About VESA DDC Plug & Play standard for the display settled by VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) ============================================================================== 1) For using on Windows 95 ============================================================================== When your system does not support VESA DDC, the display name is listed in the display list and monitor information is stored in Windows 95 by installing the Display Information File. Settings (1) Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 95. (2) Download the "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into the floppy disk. (3) Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings". (4) Double-click "Display" icon in the "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties". (5) Select "Settings" tag and click "Change Display Type...". (or click "Advanced...".) (6) Select "Change..." from "Monitor type". (or select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...".) (7) Click "Have Disk..." in the Selected Device dialog box. (8) Insert above (2) floppy disk into the floppy disk drive. (9) Select the floppy disk drive and select "Copy manufacturer files from:" and then click "OK". (10) Select the preferred monitor from the displayed "Models:" list. (11) Select "OK" and close the dialog box. (12) Restart Windows 95 to activate the setting. ============================================================================ 2) For using on Windows 98 ============================================================================ * For the system supporting VESA DDC If your system supports VESA DDC, the display is automatically recognized and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected. There is no need to install the Display Information File except for using the Color Profile. Settings (1) Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 98. (2) After "New Hardware Found" is displayed, "Add New Hardware Wizard" window appears and "The wizard searches for new drivers for: Plug and Play Minter" is displayed. Click "Next". (3) Select "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)" then click "Next". (4) Click "Next" without marking the target drive for searching the driver. (5) "Windows driver file searches for the device: Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed then click "Next". (6) "Windows has finished installing the software that your new hardware device requires." is displayed then click "Finish". * For the system not supporting VESA DDC Settings (1) Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive. (2) Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings". (3) Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties". (4) Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...". (5) Select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...". (6) "Update Device Driver Wizard" windows appears and click "Next". (7) Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want." then click "Next". (8) Click "Have Disk..." (9) "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK". (10) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next". (11) "Windows driver file searches for the device:" is displayed and click "Next". (12) "Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your hardware device." is displayed and click "Finish". ============================================================================ 3) For using on Windows 2000 ============================================================================ * For the system supporting VESA DDC If your system supports VESA DDC, the display is automatically recognized and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected. There is no need to install the Display Information File except for using the Color Profile. Settings (1) Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 2000. Confirmation (1) Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings". (3) Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties". (4) Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...". (5) Select "Monitor" tag and confirm "Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed in the "Monitor Type". * For the system not supporting VESA DDC Settings (1) Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive. (2) Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings". (3) Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties". (4) Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...". (5) Select "Monitor" tag and click "Properties". (6) Select "Driver" tag and click "Update Driver...". (7) "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window is displayed and click "Next". (8) Select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" and click "Next". (9) Click "Have Disk...". (10) "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK". (11) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next". (12) "The wizard is ready to install the driver for the following hardware device:" is displayed and confirm that your selected display name is displayed. Click "Next". (13) "Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" is displayed and click "Finish". ****************************************************************************** About Color Profile ****************************************************************************** Color Profile (ICC Profile) includes all the necessary color information for the display. This file is used for color management with the application software which support ICC function. * What is the ICC Profile? A specific file including the color characteristic information for the device, settled by ICC (International Color Consortium). * Settings The Color Profile is not automatically installed on Windows 98 and Windows 2000. Please install the profile following the instruction of below. When installing the Display Information File with above procedure, the Color Profile is automatically installed. In this case, the following profile will be set as a default profile; Default Color Profile; CRT Display Monitor: xxx_93 (9300K Color Temperature) LCD Display Monitor: xxx_m1 (Color Mode 1) ============================================================================ For using on Windows 98 and Windows 2000 ============================================================================ Settings (1) Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive. (5) Select "Color Management" tag and click "Add...". (6) "Add Profile Association" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive in the "Look in:" section. (7) Select a suitable Color Profile from the list then click "Add". (8) Select a Color Profile from the list in the "Color Profiles currently associated with this device:" and click "Set As Default".
