Speed can be improved when both sound and display are activated...wait and see ! Now, display is centered on the screen. A 'once' option has been added for shells in order to watch all files in a directory. I have added a new AVI pack type: the 8 bits RLE now joins 8 & 16 bits CRAM types...CVID files are still not accepted, so display is unavailable...You only have sound (if there is !). You can use Escape/Space/Mouse/Joystick to leave the program so feel free to exit the way you prefer ! * How to use ? -------------- There are no changes here. To play an AVI file with AVI030, follow one of these methods: 1/ Install it as an application with AVI extension and full path, and top window as default path. Then, just double-click an AVI file to play it ! 2/ Drag the AVI030 icon on the desktop. Then, just drag and drop the AVI file to be played on the program icon. 3/ Double-click the program and enter command line. Precise full path except if it is the current one and the filename without extension if it is '.AVI'. Then you can add a switch to disable either sound or display: add ' -s' to kick sound or ' -d' to kick display. It is not pos- sible to kick both. Don't forget to leave 1 space between name and switch. The once option has to be the last one: just add 'o' or ' -o' if it is the only switch... Wildcards are not allowed in filename. Examples: ALIVE.AVI plays ALIVE.AVI in current dir with both audio and video E:\ANGELS -d plays ANGELS.AVI in E:\ without video STINGRAY. -so plays once STINGRAY in current dir without sound * Requirements -------------- You just need a Falcon computer with a colour screen and around 350Kbytes of free ST-ram. It runs on VGA and RGB screens and with speed cards (At least with a Speed Resolution Card, this should be true with most cards...). Don't run this program in TT Ram, it is still not supported but maybe soon... This program should run correctly with NVDI and it restores the screen cor- rectly with Videl Inside. The DSP is used for sound at 49KHz, if the DSP is busy the sound will auto- matically be turned off. AVI files are played in direct-from-disk modus, so you can play very large ones without any problem. However, don't try to play an AVI file from floppy drive ! Use a CD-Rom or a Hard Disk if you want a reasonable speed... * Author -------- If you like this program and use it quite often, please send money to help me in its development...Don't be silly and keep Atari alive !!! It is moneyware: spread it freely but send money if you want improvements.
