Thanks to Psynosis for making Lemmings such a great game... Hope Tribes lives up to expectations! __________________ / Compatibility * / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ OhNo! will only run on an ST compatible that supports Atari's PCM sound which was first introduced on the STe. OhNo will only run correctly on a Falcon if a patch has been run which connects the PCM soundchip and the output. This isn't supplied... sorry! ____________ / The files / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ In this package (archive or folder) you should find the following files: OHNO!.PRG The program. Put in your AUTO folder. README.TXT This file __________________ / Getting started / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ Just copy OHNO!.PRG into the AUTO folder of your boot drive (e.g. A:\AUTO or C:\AUTO). ____________ / Operation / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ OhNo links itself to the RESET vector in your STe's memory. This means that when a warm reset is performed (either the Reset button or Ctrl-Alr-Del) OhNo! plays its lemmings sample just before reseting the computer. Upon resetting, OhNo is wiped from the computers memory, just like everything else. On TOS 1.4+, using Ctrl-Alr-RtShift-Del COLD boots your computer, and this will immediately wipe OhNo! with it. If you don't hear OhNo!, then you know the computer has been effectively wiped. *NOTE* apparently some new virii can catch the cold reset vector. If you suspect something, ALWAYS switch off your computer for at least 30 seconds. ________________ / OhNo! History / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ The first version of OhNo! should have run on a standard ST. Unfortunately, it didn't! Sample playing is so difficult on a standard ST that trying to do it after most of the system has been ripped appart is not easy! OhNo! STE was written in April 1992. ______________________ / Contact the author! / ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ I'd like to hear from you whether you've found a bug, can suggest any improvements or just plain like the program.
