For the German commander:

The Seelow Heights are the last natural obstacle the Russians must overcome
before Berlin.  You must defend a strip of this barrier with elements of
the 9th Airborne Division.  Stop the Russian tanks at all costs.

For the Russian commander: 

Marshall Zhukov is under severe pressure from Stalin to capture Berlin before
our Allies and before our southern neighbor, Marshall Konev.  Capture the
Seelow Heights at all costs.
