Michael All Rights Reserved Worldwide This is the Windows 3.1 compatible version of PBTerm (Copyright 1996, 1997 by DavidRM Software). It is designed to be run with Paintball Net (Copyright 1996, 1997 by Douglas E. Michael). PBTerm 16 is pre-initialized with the current location of PBN in the connection dialog. HOW TO CONNECT: 0) Get connected to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) 1) Run PBTerm16.EXE from either Program Manager (File->Run) or find it in File Manager and run it from there. 2) Once PBTerm 16 is fully loaded, click on the "Connect" button in the lower-right corner of the screen. 3) Enter your name in the "User Name" box, and give your self a "Password". 4) Enter Information about the character you would like to create. 5) If you are connected via a PPP or SLIP connection then: - Click on the "Winsock Connect" tab at the lower-left corner of the dialog box - Fill in the Address and Port fields (they should already be filled in) If you are connected to a SHELL account via direct modem connection then: NOTE for SHELL/COMM PORT USERS: PBTERM16 *ASSUMES* you have ALREADY dialed-up and logged into your shell account BEFORE you run PBTERM16 and try to connect - Click on the "Comm Port Connect" tab at the lower-left corner of the dialog box - Fill in the Command line with (typically) for unix/linux: telnet shell.busprod.com 4444 or for VAX/VMS: telnet shell.busprod.com /PORT=4444 (if you leave the "Command" blank, then you'll have to type in the commands necessary to telnet (or whatever) to PBN. Of course, once PBTERM16 see's the PBN login, it will automatically finish logging you into the game) - Fill in the Comm port Number and Baud Rate 6) Hit "OK", it will initiate a connection with PBN and fill in your Name and password information for you. If it gives you an error, you might have to change your Name or Password a bit. 7) Once you are in the game, I suggest you check out the Tutorial in the help menu.
