Please ensure you read all the documentation before proceeding with the installation. For the latest changes and updates made to the pack file, please read the file history below. Significant changes have been made to the format of the pack file, and in so doing so, the size of the pack file has decreased significantly - without loss of features. This build does however require the latest version of the installer - Dialog Enhancer '99. Regards Richard Castle. Dialog Enhancer Development. *** 1.1 History of changes *** ====================== 6.00g Gamma Release - 5/6/1999 *** 1.2 Known Problems *** ===================== 1. Open dialog for FileGraph PM is broken. 2. TCPIP Configuration notebook displays TEMP for sub pages. (Ideas anyone?) Notes : 1. Programs that DE can update using the current level of UPDATE.DAT are written out to the file 'UPDATE.LST' during install. 2. The new version of IBM TCPIP will not be updated. 3. Some applications within OS/2 have hard coded dialogs. This is most obvious in the FDISK PM application where the system proportional font is still used in the main window. There is no possible way of changing this without hacking the application executable. *** 1.3 Bug Report Methods *** ========================== 1. Forms are provided on the Dialog Enhancer home page to ease bug reporting. Please ensure you are clear about the bug and let us know your system details. When we mention bug, we mean any form of Dialog irregularity. Please enclose any .ERR files created in the install folder, and paste in the INSTALL.LOG file into the space provided. 2. Personal E-mails are welcome with comments and suggestions. We would be interested to hear from those who would like some 3rd Party application supported in the next release of Dialog Enhancer. Just let us know what apps you would like to see overhauled, and we will begin to update the most popular requests. *** 1.4 Updated System Areas *** ======================== Clipboard Viewer TCPIP Properties notebook pages Device Driver Installer Display Driver Installer System Editor PM FDisk Help Viewer Icon Editor System Spooler Viewer PM Checkdisk PM Format System dialogs PM Seek and Scan Files System VDM properties dialogs System VDM window dialogs System icons Hardware Manager WarpCenter TCPIP Terminal setup SLIP Message utility Dial Other Internet Providers TCPIP Properties notebook dialog surround Telnet PM Application TCPIP Uninstaller IBM LAN components Warp 4.0 Registry Editor OS/2 Uninstaller Migrate applications WIN-OS/2 Open dialog WIN-OS/2 About boxes PM View 1.02 Priority Master 2.5 Smalled 2.0 OS/2 Multimedia components Netscape Communicator 4.04 ZOC 3.12 PMMail 1.96 / 2.01 Printer Subsystem and OMNI+PLOTTER+POSTCRIPT drivers AWE 32 Control Panel and Mixer ScreenSaver 2.6 File Phoenix Undelete Netscape 2.02 *** 1.5 3rd Party support *** ===================== Dialog Enhancer will check the file chosen on the 3rd party selection screen for size against what it expects. If the application has been modified, updated with a fix etc, you will need to select the option to stop Dialog Enhancer from checking the size. This is done so at the users own risk. If the program has simply had fixes made to it then it is quite safe to use this option. *** 1.6 Credits *** ============== Below is a list of the hard-working people who have helped me test Dialog Enhancer '99 and improve it before it was released for public testing. (Sorry!) *** 1.7 Work In Progress *** ==================== The broad coverage of Dialog Enhancer '99 in terms of the dialogs updated. Expect to see some more 3rd party applications supported in the near future! The Dialog Enhancer '99 pack file is being extended to support Win-OS/2 applications, and give them an OS/2 look. This will be an optional extra selectable on install for registered users. Keep an eye out later in the year for further updates. *** 1.8 Disclaimer *** ================ This package is provided 'as is', without any guarantees whatsoever.
