Downloading NetRexx 1.148 packages
|
NetRexx packages are available in both zip and
tar+compress format. The packages available are:
- NetRexx:
Toolkit and online documentation:
- documentation and samples, in HTML and other forms
- the NetRexx class files; these are the Rexx class
files that carry out decimal arithmetic, etc.; they should work
on all Java 1.1 (or later) platforms.
- the NetRexx compiler; the classes for the NetRexx
compiler. This should work on all platforms that can run the Java 1.1
(or later) toolkit and compiler.
- NetRexxD:
Documentation in printable (PostScript) form:
- the NetRexx language definition
- the NetRexx language supplement (describes the
enhancements in NetRexx 1.1, and the netrexx.lang package)
The NetRexx documentation and software are distributed free of charge
under the conditions of the IBM Employee-Written Software program.
If you download or use a NetRexx package you agree to the terms
in the IBM License Agreement for
Employee-Written Software. Please read it before downloading.
To view the online documentation you need a text editor or a Web
browser.
To run the software, you will need the Java runtime and toolkit (from
the 1.1.x or later Java development kit) installed on your target
machine. For more information on these:
- For OS/2, AIX and other IBM operating systems, follow the "Developer
Tools" and "JDK" links from the
IBM page for Java
- For other operating systems, see the
Sun Microsystems Java
page, and the home pages of other Java toolkit suppliers.
- This includes the NetRexx 1.148 compiler and
utility classes, samples, and online documentation [23 Dec 1998].
Download by choosing either:
- Unpack the file you downloaded (a new directory called 'NetRexx'
should be created by this).
Note that the package contains subdirectories and files with "long
names". All names may be case-sensitive. Detailed instructions
are available in the installation
instructions; please read these before installing.
You can also extract the installation instructions as the file
nrinst.doc from the package you downloaded.
- Once unpacked into a directory, you can view the NetRexx
documentation locally by pointing your Web browser at the 'root'
documentation file netrexx.htm.
- To use the NetRexx compiler or the NetRexx class files, you'll need
to unpack the nrtools.zip or
nrtools.tar.Z files included within the NetRexx
package.
Again, please see the installation
instructions.
Note: NetRexx 1.02 is available for Java 1.0.x platforms, though it
is no longer being enhanced. The package is available
as nrexx102.zip
and nrexx102.tar.Z.
- This package includes the NetRexx 1.00
definition [13 Apr 1997] and the NetRexx Supplement
1.148
[21 Dec 1998]
Download by choosing either:
- Unpack the file you downloaded (a separate directory is
recommended).

You can also extract the installation instructions from the
NetRexx package, as the file
nrinst.doc.
