Since many users were experiencing problems printing the PS documentation supplied on the C-Set++ CD-ROM. This ZIP file contains the reformatted versions of the postscript documentation for C-Set++. Including the PS fonts used by these documents. This should solve any problems people have been having printing these documents. Instructions for using the fonts are below. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- BookMaster 4.0 is shipped with a new PostScript font, named BookMaster Gothic (from here, it will be called Bookie Gothic). It replaces the ISIL Gothic font. The prefix for the Bookie Gothic font is EDFBG. To print a PS on a PostScript printer: 4216-20 with PPAP 1.3.1: Use the PPCTL program to add information about Bookie Gothic to the font table. This will allow the font to be downloaded only when it is used. Because of its size, you may want to download a few of the fonts when you load the print driver. If you use the DGA driver under OS/2, you may need to change the names to EDFBGx__.PFB before doing the conversion, making the file names fill out all 8 characters. 4216-20 with PPAP 1.3.0 or earlier: Add the following lines to your DEFAULTS.PRF file (You only need to add the lines for those fonts you normally use): (you will probably not be able to load more than four of the fonts): FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBG.PFA FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBGB.PFA FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBGBI.PFA FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBGI.PFA FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBGM.PFA FONT=c:\psfonts\EDFBGR.PFA Most other PostScript printers (4019s, 4029s, etc.) The 4019/4029 LDRIVER utility doesn't seem to work with the Bookie Gothic font. If you have an Adobe font, you should have PCSEND.EXE. Try to download the PFBs to your printer with one of the following commands: If your printer has a hard drive PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBG.PFB -H PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGB.PFB -H PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGBI.PFB -H PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGI.PFB -H PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGM.PFB -H PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGR.PFB -H If your printer doesn't have a hard drive PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBG.PFB -F PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGB.PFB -F PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGBI.PFB -F PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGI.PFB -F PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGM.PFB -F PCSEND C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGR.PFB -F If you don't have PCSEND or if PCSEND doesn't work with your printer, add the following line to each of the PFAs you want to download: serverdict begin 0 exitserver Then use the commands: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBG.PFA LPT1: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGB.PFA LPT1: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGBI.PFA LPT1: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGI.PFA LPT1: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGM.PFA LPT1: COPY C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGR.PFA LPT1: Printers where the above doesn't work: Use the font WITHOUT the serverdict line, and concatenate it in front of your print file, for example: COPY c:\PSFONTS\EDFBG.PFA+C:\PSFONTS\EDFBGB.PFA+MYFILE.PS LPT1: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Some information about PostScript font terms: AFM - Adobe Font Metrics file. AFMs contain the information used by formatters and other programs to place the characters on the page. FONTPS is the host file type used by DCF and Bookie for AFMs. PFA - Unencoded PostScript font. PFAs may be edited before sending them down to the printer. PFB - Encoded PostScript fonts. The font information in a PFB is condensed, so a PFB will be about 1/2 the size of a PFA. Most font downloader programs require the use of a PFB. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
