═══ 1. About NGVPM ═══

 NGVPM for OS/2 is a native OS/2 2.0 PM application that makes it possible to 
view Norton Guides on your Desktop without having to start a windowed or full 
screen VDM. NGVPM uses the standard PM interface to view Norton Guides. The 
Norton Guide Viewer was originally written for Windows, but the author got 
wiser and moved to OS/2. 

The Norton Guide Viewer for OS/2 beta version 0.51

This is a beta version of what is to come. It allows you to view entire guides. 
The final version will support all the features that are included in Norton 
Guides: 

■ Short and long entries 
■ See-also list 
■ Bold text 
■ Underlined text (even on a color screen!) 
■ Reverse text 
■ All the standard DOS-colors 

Extra features in NGVPM: 

■ Searching for text in both short and long entries 
■ Printing a topic or some lines from a topic* 
■ Copy selected text to the Clipboard 
■ Mouse support 

Features with a * behind them have not yet been implemented. See Future plans 

Features with a ** behind them have bugs. Have to figure out why this is (if 
you have any idea please send me net-mail). See Contacting the Author for more 
information. 

Also, the following menu items are not yet implemented:

═══ 2. Distribution notes ═══

You may freely use and distribute this beta version of NGVPM provided nothing 
is changed and this INF file is included. The final release will not be free 
and should be registered. Users of the Windows version will be able to upgrade 
for a small fee. 

A note for sysops: I would appreciate it if the archive name and description 
will look something like: 

NGPM051B.xxx - The Norton Guide Viewer for OS/2 (beta version 0.51) 

where xxx stands for ZIP, ARJ, LZH or some other archiving method. The original 
file was a ZIP file containing NGVPM.EXE and NGVPM.INF and extended attributes 
for the EXE file, so it's best to leave this unchanged. You should use an OS/2 
version of UNZIP to extract the extended attributes.

■ Printing of (parts of) topics 
■ Online help for all dialogs 
■ A complete manual in INF format 
■ Support for EH files (need description of this format, anyone?)
