KashEDIT for OS/2(R), Version 0.98 Release 3.00 (delta 2) Feb. 4.2000 Chiaki KashEDIT for OS/2 (the following KE/2) is text editor to move with VIO. It reached it for the thought preparation when it wanted editor of the way of operating it which is the same as VZ Editor (Mr. by c.mos) which got used to the hand. Therefore, it doesn't follow CUA though it is OS/2 application. I wanted to make this by around 1994 when I began to use OS/2. However, it was February, 1997 three years ago that it actually began to make. Though it reached after all to the condition of text viewer, sauce became spaghetti, and it was the place to begin to reconsider design from 1, and it was stopped at that time.(Even if nothing is written by nothing, VZ Editor can be used with MVDM,...The application of OS/2, the native didn't increase. It must be because application until now worked with WIN-OS/2 and MVDM.) The latter half age passes, and starts design again in August, 1997 when the date of the notebook which design was being written in is seen. But, it seems that it was completely forgotten, and seems to resign it soon thanks to the blank in a half year. ;^P This time, it was completely thrown away, and the past passed, and written again from 1.Because it was, it is introduced to the public here. KE/2 is being compiled by IBM C Set++.Because Toolkit uses 2.1 of the C Set++ accessory, use is supposed to be possible with 32bit OS/2 of the version 2.x and more. (It is unconfirmed.) Indication and key input use 16bit VIO. However, because C Set++ is being used, an inside is thought to be 32bit.Which is earlier in comparison with 32bit -> 16bit call though there is a parameter of the IOCTL routine very much in 32bit VIO? A file to 256 is opened at the same time, and KE/2 can be read at the same time to 2. KE/2 reads a file in the memory, and moves with on memory. Even if it is size beyond the loading memory, it seems to assign an imagination memory, and malloc() of "Set++" can acquire a memory normally. Therefore, it thinks that Editor itself is a little under 512M except for a territory to use with KE/2 from 512M that the upper limit of the file size that editing is possible is the limitation in specification of OS/2(?). There are actual results which read the file of 32MB tentatively. (Don't you restrict Warp Server SMP?) But, a large quantity of swap occurs, and a practical speed doesn't come out. Tentatively, when it is made to read the textbook of 22456 lines 1055456 bytes, it is hard with Warp Connect of the IBM Japan, Ltd. ThinkPad230Cs (FBW i486DX2/50 20MB ytes memory : the following TP230) top which is a development environment. It is considered belonging to the still late class though it is compared after KE/2 gamma3 before gamma2 and the speed of three times comes out. It is early over here SHARP PC-3000 of 80C88/10MHz rather than it turns DOS/C and Japanese is used with VZ Editor when it does toward an approximate goal of TP230, too.The thing that corners around VIO are cut or recent display driver for the graphic card is very late and it can't be used seems that be, too. I can't have it use KE/2 with such an environment with being disappointed.(A separate chip is being used in the SVGA mode and the VGA mode from the viewpoint of hardware, and a slow thing exists, too.) Reproduction is made a permission system more than gamma 9. Reproduction hope is to give me (chiaki@attglobal.net) mail. Give me mail directly to me (chiaki@attglobal.net) if you write it in the board of KashNET if you find what or a problem [information on the minimum in the attached bug report form (report.txt) is added]. Support is fundamentally with KashNET or Web Page (http://www.netpassport.or.jp/~wchiaki/producte.htm). Download of KE/2 which is always the latest (A development edition is included, too.) is possible with KashNET. As for the way of operating it, the bug that it is well-known, the specification, see manual.txt, spec.txt.
